Sketchavember dump #1

These are the first half of sketchavember sketches. They are out of order so that everything fits better. Baaah I don't like any of these except for maybe the san juan one...and that was reffed. urghh being frustrated with your own art is the worst...I feel like crap ;__;

 After being asked by a couple of people to update this blog, here I am again. Sorry for the absence! I don't really know what to blog about now since I've sort of moved my sketchblog, even though I've said that I'd keep posting art but I don't really know when to >_> I'm thinking about just scrapping everything and using this site as a portfolio thing when I'm older/have better things to show, but that means I'd lose all those dumb posts I made in 8th grade (they're fun to read and laugh at). Anyways...

book binge

 So I uh went on another book binge .____. I have become very bad at not spending money. Once you start, you can't stop O__O

 I'm pretty happy with this right now (sky-wise) but if I don't stop looking at it I know I'm going to start hating it aaaaaagh

So. I am back! I guess. I'm not even finished with all my summer assignments yet but idgf. School is starting in a week so ffffffffffffffff I need to draw as much as I can while I still have time. Kind of. 

I have also decided that I'm going to use blogger as a dump site for my art, so I won't be posting as much here but every time I do there will there will probably be more than one thing to look at.

I'm going on a hiatus because I'm overloaded with work right now. I'll probably be back by the time summer is over (for me thats around the last week of August). Tuna.be will still be up and running though. That's it, later!

AX 2011

 
Went to AX on 7/2...it was so hot -_-

WELL I ended up just drawing an entirely different picture haha. The other sketch didn't really have any movement going on so I though it was kind of boring. This one actually looks like they're doing something. 

I was listening to the OST the whole time while painting. The theme is a waltz! That's why they're waltzing ._.

 

I'm so much faster at painting than CGing...I should paint more

 I finished my sketchbook recently...finally...after like a years and a half holy shiz. I don't use sketchbooks a lot, I tend to just draw on loose pieces of paper since is easier to scan and such. Actually, I don't sketch that much at all. Well now I'm going to attempt to start on the intimidating large hard-back sketchbook I got as a gift a few years ago, and there's no turning back once I draw something because you can't rip anything out! Aah!

This is the first page of my old sketchbook that I did in 6th grade (blind contour, supposed to draw something without looking at your paper) I used to use it for art class but after like 10 pages I stopped. And then I started to use it again last year

Well this kind of too forever. But its done. Hooraaaay

I watched Howl's Moving Castle a couple of days ago and I loved it. *__* so I stayed up and drew stuff hehe...and today I hastily colored some of it.  Most of it is Howl and Sophie but that's because they're the only ones I remembered how to draw without a ref orz. I like staying up till like 2 drawing during the summer * 3 *

 

I just realized that most of the colored sketches are profile views haaaahah what so here's an uncolored one...that I'll probably color. And make it nice. hee hee wow this is the biggest art dump I've done in like a year

 

I plan on watching a lot of Miyazaki movies over the summer so there will probably be more Miyazaki stuff to come. Ho ho ho..that man is a genius. 

 

This is my summer uniform ._. (that and PJ's the entire morning, sometimes even the whole day if I'm feeling too lazy to change)  I actually kind of want to dye my hair like that...not all red lol, most of it would still be black but the bottom layer would be brown or something. I've seen people with light hair and a darker layer underneath, looked pretty nice...

So summer started. Woopdeedoo. I'm trying to enjoy it while I can but I can't help but feel stressed about classes and summer assignments etc. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Let me just say it now...this is going to be one unproductive summer. 

A fish I made in ceramics. I'm okay at hand building but I suck balls on the wheel.

One of my CPU fans went out today so I hope nothing bad happens before I get a new fan ;~;

I get sick at the most convenient times.

Firefox won't let me log onto blogger wtf so I'm using chrome right now.

Below are the WIPs I've started around mid-april to now and the amount of motivation I have to finish them.

The 60% motivation one I started today, so things might change by tomorrow or the next time I work on it.

I feel a bit artblocked ;~;

On a side note, I went jogging today for the first time in like a year and I died. I'm going to fail my fitness test on thursdayfalsjdfkd;j. I've never failed a single part of my fitness exams in the past 2 years and this year I'm going to fail it allll aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

uhh I haven't posted in weeks because...well I don't really have anything to put up ; v ; I'm working on stuff but I don't want to spam WIPs (like I usually do orz) There's like 21 days left of school, soo close * P * I don't think I'm going to be very productive either way though...

 I went to Taiwan from 4/19 to 4/23 (so about 4 days). It wasn't even spring break for me so I have a bunch of work to make up augh! Well it was still pretty fun I guess. Wasn't hot like usual in the summer, which was new to me and it felt a lot nicer. I didn't get to do a lot of shopping because my family was really busy for all 4 days sooo that was kind of disappointing...but I got to go to the Taipei Main Station underground mall aah so awesome *__* I

I was also able to get the artbooks I've been wanting for a long time ; w ; yaaay

There was this little store called Mag Freakz that sold a giant collection of artbooks. (and magazines and manga in the front) I wanted to buy everythinggg asjaslkj;ak

I got these 3. Pixiv 2010 annual, Pixiv 2011 girls collection, and Makato Shinkai's artbook. Everything was cheaper than what I would have bought it for online except for the Shinkai artbook because it costed almost as much as the pixiv 2010 even though it was so much smalle and thinner - 3 -

 I went in and bookmarked all the pages with stuff I really liked. A lot of the pictures in the Shinkai book were small thumbnails :( Everything Shinkai does is amazing though * o * so that makes up for it

This is just a page of the 2011 girls collection that I liked. I considered getting 2 pixiv annual books (2010 and 2009) but I kind of wanted more of a variety...so I got this. It's cheaper than the annual 2009 but it was thinner. And since it's a "girl's collection", all of the pictures have girls in them ahaha. But a lot of the art in the pixiv annuals have girls in them too so it doesn't really make a difference does it? And its still equally nice, although it doesn't have the same variety.

Here's a comparison of all 3 of the artbooks' thicknesses. From left to right, Makato Shinkai, Girls Collection, Pixiv Annual 2010. The 2010 annual is sooo thick! It was heavy too! All of them were heavy! (that's good quality paper for you) If the 2011 pixiv annual comes out before I go to AX and it's there, I'm buying it fosho >8B
